June 28: Removing Obstacles to Eliminating Racial & Ethnic Disparities
You are invited to attend a Psychiatry Grand Rounds on June 28 at noon featuring Margarita Alegria, Ph.D., Chief of the Disparities Research Unit in Department of Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Alegria will present Removing Obstacles to Eliminating Racial & Ethnic Disparities in Behavioral Health Care.

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation. This activity will provide 1.50 CE’s to psychologists and social workers who attend.
At the conclusion of this activity participants will be able to:
- Understand the role of minority status and social interactions in the development of psychopathology
- Be able to name 4 mechanisms underlying racial and ethnic disparities in health care
- Identify one strategy/approach aimed at reducing disparities in the clinical encounter
